About Coast Highway Trading

Deborah Molina and Rachael Maile are a local mother-daughter team that has a passion for their community and retail. For several decades they have searched for unique products from all around the world. Working with local artisans, buying globally conscious products that are unique as our beloved customers.

As local Encinitas residents, they are excited to bring a new storefront to the well-known streets of the 101 Highway. The word collective is defined as a group of entities which work together to achieve a common goal. Composed of about 20 small businesses, local artisans, and handmade jewelers, Coast Highway Trading will be a compilation of exceptional items perfectly curated with love.

Bongo Bay Studio

Bongo Bay Studio is fine art created by Alan Casagrande. Alan has been creating works of art for well over 30 years and enjoys a wide variety of media and styles. Alan graduated from Hollywood Art Center in the early eighties and is a member of the Screen Cartoonists Union. He has worked on numerous animated shows and commercials over the years. 

He sells his work in several stores and galleries in Southern California, Hawaii and on the web. Published in books, magazines, giftware companies in Hawaii and fine art publishers on the East Coast, his customers are worldwide. 

Alan likes to travel and gets his inspiration and a lot of his subject matter from the trips he has taken, where he always brings along his paints and canvas. From watercolors, acrylics, pen & inks, pastels and wood carvings, Alan creates an easy-to-recognize style all his own. His other interests include surfing, sailing, playing music, camping, travel, scuba diving, and shooting underwater videos.
